While it’s cooking I think I’ll turn off all the lights and lie on the floor staring into the oven’s warm glow while listening to disc 2…

I will offically be joining the world of work, the daily grind, the rat race. Madame Tussauds in London have been crazy enough to give me a job! A job working with real normal people… argh!

Honestly thought I hadn’t got it and foolishly made loads of plans in the last few days for my summer… which is annoying, but oh wellll it’s only 7 weeks and afterwards I will be able to finally buy a drum kit, so WOO!

High contender for this title. Today we celebrated Robyn’s birthday in the only sane way there is: A DOCTOR WHO COSTUME PARTY IN A PARK. I went as an ood! Disappointingly there was no opportunity to go all CRAZY OOD on some unsuspecting children… ALAS.

Other things of note:

All Sporting activity-ed out for the year by playing a good 20 minutes of FOOTINGBALLS.
Now realise what a ridiculous amount of sugar I consumed: am now battling an EXTREME crash.
Made sure a sleeping old man in a car was not dead.
Karma hit me like a bitch: Laughed at Elliot on Friday due to a train stopping at Coulsdon but not Purley, and today THE REVERSE.

Maybe I’ll post photos of the day when they appear! Even though I know everyone will, but HEY, whatevs.

I have decided to go to Wales for the weekend! I’m heading off to the Rhondda Valley for a few days of Allotments, cheese sandwiches and old people. SHOULD BE GOOD. What I am looking forward to is the train journey from Cardiff to Treorchy. Most mental train line ever. Basically stops at every tree it comes across.

You know how sometimes you don’t realise how disgusting a house is until you try to clean it? Well yeah… that was my yesterday. The hob hadn’t been done for 4 weeks and the bathroom for 10 weeks. Pretty sure I inhaled enough chlorine gas to legally class me as a swimming pool.

It was strangely fun, however. Also going back up to uni for one day meant I got to spend 6 HOURS on the train! Now that was awesome. I think I got my train album selections perfect too:

It’s awesomely awesome. I just love the 7/4 drum beat underneath everything else played in 4/4. Makes my feel like I’m weaving around a maze of pillars. ANYWAY, now I’m composing some of my own polyrhythm songs and it’s sounding pretty good! If I get a good recording I might even upload some.

After watching everyone I know go out and have their own version of “fun” last night I decided RIGHT. I’M GOING ON AN ADVENTURE OF MY OWN. I hadn’t been on a night time adventure for a while, and this was the first one ever outside of the sandbox of safety which is Greater London.

SO. Just after midnight I ventured out towards Warwick with Liars - Drums not Dead soundtracking the adventure. Something about that album makes me do stupid things, and for some reason once I left the lights of the town behind I decided to venture onto the canal and walk along it into Warwick. At this point a number of factors came into play:

1. It was PITCH BLACK.

2. There was a large body of water next to me.

3. I was a long way from any type of civilization.

Anyway, this cumulated in me being absolutely terrified. I was basically just relying on trees to stop me going too close to the water and falling in. Plus, my noise cancelling headphones meant I couldn’t hear (or see) if anyone was coming, and listening to the track ”Drum and The Uncomfortable Can” hardly helped:

“Take him out the back, Throw him in the bin, Dump his grimy clothes, Wash your dirty hands, Fake you’re-on-a-walk, Walk up Bellview creek, Find a secret spot, Check you’re in the clear”

So for the first time ever on an adventure I actually had to stop listening to music through fear. Lucky I did, as someone did actually ride up behind me on a bike shouting something about my nan or something.

Basically, IT WAS GODDAMN AWESOME. The fear was very real, and that helps put everything else in perspective. Adreneline is pretty awesome too, once you know you’re safe. Anyways, I deffinitely got more out of it than any of the parties I managed to excuse my way out of. ALL IN ALL a good night!
